Many users prefer Apple products primarily due to the fact that the company uses the touch screen technology extensively in its range. However Apple may soon lose this exclusivity once the new innovation from Portugal based company Displax catches on. Displax has recently introduced a new product bringing touch screen technology to all devices.

Displax’s product is a thin sheet of plastic film that can be attached to the surface of any electronic device like a phone, computer or other LCD screen. The film has a large network of wires and sensors in it that helps to detect the touch and convert it into data which is relayed to the device’s processor. It is capable of assessing upto 16 touches for a 50 inch screen.

The company has christened the film Multi Touch Skin and claims that it can be used on screens in arrange of sizes from 7 inches to 3 meters. This means that any surface from small phones to medium sized monitors to devices as large as shop window displays can be turned into touch screen displays. This will help especially in locations where there is use of interactive display that allows more than one user to use the technology at the same time.

Considering the growing preference for touch screen technology among users, the company hopes that the new product will be success and will be popular among users with different needs and usage patterns.

A useful addition to any hand-held mobile device, and going by trends something that will catch on and only add to the growing popularity of using mobile broadband.
