Why The Xbox 360 Will Fail In Japan

Filed under: Free Games + More — admin @ 1:41 pm

A Chinese analyst has stated that the Xbox 360 will not be popular in China for two major reasons.

Firstly, there is not enough diversity of game types. This was originally one of the problems with the first XBox although more recently this problem has been addressed. Also, many games are going to be cross platform, with many expected to be released on the PS3 and the Xbox 360 if not the Nintendo Revolution as well (presuming the games can cope with the new controller).

Secondly, the Chinese market can not cope with the high prices that the Xbox 360 demands. The PS3 is set to be released with higher prices than those of the XBox 360 so perhaps the Nintendo Revolution will be left to sweep up the market in China.

For whatever reason, Microsoft is unable to “successfully” release a video game console in the Japanese market. Gamers in Japan seem more apt to buy a console which comes with a bit of history, and a proven track record.

Of course, the playstation dynasty already has a huge following in China and has had ever since the launch of the PS1 but if price is going to be an issue that could all be set to dramatically change.

Universal Internet Access Would Transform the Population Distribution of Britain

Orange undertook a survey that interviewed almost 3,500 people in order to understand the changes in the UK if high speed and steady internet network is made available in all parts of the country.

This survey named Connected Britain was conducted recently and it made a map of the changes in the UK population that would take place due to the extension of fixed line and broadband internet coverage in rural parts of the UK. Currently, the rural areas do not have as good internet facilities as the cities and towns.

The interviewees were questioned about their preferences for staying and working if proper internet coverage were available everywhere in the country. Their answers made it clear that many people would not want to live in the North and the Midlands. A large number of people would prefer Scotland and the South West, and the pattern of population density would change accordingly if universal internet access becomes a reality.

Remote working, which involves using the services of people who can work remotely via the internet, is becoming quite popular. The survey showed that this method of work would become even more common.

Rober Ainger, director of corporate marketing at Orange, has reported that their survey has discovered that a labour force that uses internet would bring about a massive transformation in the country. This transformation would not only be in population pattern but also in the way people work.
